President, Global Solar Waterpower Systems, LLC, USA
President, Mark Snyder Electric, Poway, CA, USA
Mark Snyder is globally acknowledged for his expertise in evolving alternative energy technologies and applications. As a Master Electrician, Inventor, and Officer in a publicly listed Energy company, Mr. Snyder brings a unique blend of skills and experience to the field. Additionally, he is a fifth-generation farmer with three decades of experience in commercial organic farming and has dedicated 44 years to sustainable construction and green energy development.
Between 1995 and 2002, Mark lent his expertise as a consultant and supplier of special LED and electronic components to notable organizations such as DreamWorks Studios, NASA Houston, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the FBI, and the US Army. His work included contributions to the International Space Station.
Mark’s contracting company has been a pioneer in installing solar power systems for homeowners in the western United States since 1972, offering both off-grid and on-grid solutions. For 28 years, he has served as a third-party warranty provider, forensic electrician, and expert witness for San Diego Gas & Electric.
In 2010-2011, Mark Snyder Electric was contracted for the installation of poly-phase (smart meters) in California’s San Diego and Orange Counties. His proficiency in waste-to-energy production was honed through training with Dantrim International in Europe, leading to the development of Southern California’s first large-scale bio-energy conversion project in 1985.
Mark’s innovation in solar power, especially in high-efficiency passive solar tracking systems, culminated in constructing the world’s largest passive solar tracking array for the Alpine United School District in California.
In 2006, he co-founded Clean Air USA and collaborated with singer Willie Nelson to promote clean alternative motor fuels in California. Mark has also been actively involved in spearheading renewable energy projects with non-profit and Native American groups in the American Southwest.
He played a pivotal role in the Plateau Solar Project, founded by Elsa Johnson of IINA Solutions, providing essential utilities like solar electricity, water, and sanitation to Navajo elders and families in remote areas.
Mark invented the Enertopia Multi-function Utility Structure (EMPUS), a versatile system delivering an array of solar-powered utilities. In 2011, he deployed EMPUS units for 37 Navajo elder families.
Continuing his innovative work, Mark focuses on renewable energy and energy efficiency systems, including solar-powered irrigation, Thermolyzer systems for indoor agriculture, resilient microgrid systems for off-grid communities, and solar PV systems with Programmable Logic Controllers.
